Nuestra Historia

The Latino Organization of the Southwest (LOS) is the only indigenous Latino entity on the Southwest side of Chicago.

This community based entity grew out of a need to address changing social, economic, educational and political status in the southwest side.

LOS works closely with other nonprofit organizations in the area to advocate, organize, and provide direct service to residents of the southwest side.

LOS continues to lead and direct vital services to ensure equality and equity for all.  During the last decades LOS has endured the political and economic changes of the area.

LOS maintains vital programs to ensure the rights of the people and access to needed services:

  • New American Initiative (NAI)

  • Immigrant Family Resources Program

  • Energy and Water Assistance Program

  • Violence Prevention (CAP)
